Birkdale beat Birkenhead 2 to 1 to make the area finals in the Independent Schools Matchplay Tournament. The members of Caldy GC complimented both sides for their manners and mature behaviour both on and off the course. The conditions were not great (v cold and windy) so all the lads did amazingly well to keep going.
Stowe beat RGS Worcester today 3 nil to reach the area finals in the Independent Schools matchplay Tournament. They now face last years winners Malvern with a chance to make the National finals at Carnoustie in April
Paul Lockwood (Hessle, Yorkshire) and Matthew Wallace (Moor Park, Hertfordshire) will attempt to extend England’s fine record in the event when they represent the EGU in the Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup at Los Lagartos Country Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the 10th – 13th November.
