david Birkdale beat Birkenhead 2 to 1 to make the area finals in the Independent Schools Matchplay Tournament. The members of Caldy GC complimented both sides for their manners and mature behaviour both on and off the course. The conditions were not great (v cold and windy) so all the lads did amazingly well to keep going.
Birkdale now face Bolton in the area finals with the winners taking their place at the National finals at Carnoustie in April.
