The Grammar Schools at Leeds (last years area winners) beat newcomers St Bees to make the area finals in the Independent Schools matchplay Tournament

Brentwood beat Highgate 3-0 today in the Independent Schools matchplay Tournament to reach the semi finals

Bedford through to semi finals

Bedford won 3-0 against Merchant Taylors this week and now  play Sibford in the semi finals of the Independent Schools Matchplay Tournament

Birkdale make area finals

Birkdale beat Birkenhead 2 to 1 to make the area finals in the Independent Schools Matchplay Tournament. The members of Caldy GC complimented both sides for their manners and mature behaviour both on and off the course.  The conditions were not great (v cold and windy) so all the lads did amazingly well to keep going.

Malvern make the area finals

Malvern beat Clifton to take their place in the area finals of the Independent Schools Matchplay Tournament

British Schools National Finals at St Andrews

The British Schools national final are due to be held at St Andrews Bay on April 25th and 26th 2012. Both days will be held on the championship Torrance course. The Torrance Course, Par 72 and 7,230 yards, originally designed by Sam Torrance now re-designed with 8 new holes and classic Scottish revetted bunkering throughout

ISGA Announce Carnoustie as 2012 Final Venue

ISGA  announce the venue for their 2012 national finals is to be held at the Carnoustie Links, venue of various Majors. Carnoustie is considered by many to be one of the finest golf courses in the UK and is rated as one of the top courses in the world.  

Double win for Whitgift

Whitgifts B team had a narrow victory against Brighton College. After losing the first match and winning the next  the third match was crucial. Whitgifts player finished 3 and 2 to get his team through to the next round where they meet their A team.


The International Schools Golf Association has just announced its new Senior Schools ranking for the UK. Schools will be ranked using the following competitions. ISGA Schools Matchplay Tournament and national Finals, HMC Foursomes and national Finals, ISGA Schools Cup, The Shire Trophy.
