November 18th, 2011 david Birkdale beat Birkenhead 2 to 1 to make the area finals in the Independent Schools Matchplay Tournament. The members of Caldy GC complimented both sides for their manners and mature behaviour both on and off the course. The conditions were not great (v cold and windy) so all the lads did amazingly well to keep going.

The British Schools national final are due to be held at St Andrews Bay on April 25th and 26th 2012. Both days will be held on the championship Torrance course.
